Academic Policy
- WUST offers three semesters annually for its Day 1 CPT Programs: Fall, Spring, and Summer.
- International students are required to enroll in a minimum of two courses per semester, totaling 6 credits, which includes one online and one hybrid course.
CPT Policy

CPT Activation Timing: WUST allows students to activate their CPT work authorizations on the start date of each semester (with three semesters per year, totaling six enrollment windows). There is no gap between CPT authorizations.

CPT Application: To apply for CPT, the employer's signature is required on the CPT Agreement, which must be submitted before the CPT application deadline.

Students can apply for CPT at any time during the program.

Maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is essential for students. Failure to do so may result in the termination of your CPT.

Onsite Policy
- Students are required to attend on-campus classes during the third, sixth, and ninth weeks of each semester, totaling three in-person sessions per semester.
- The remainder of the coursework can be completed online, providing flexibility and convenience for students balancing academics with professional commitments.
Vacation Policy
- WUST offers a Hybrid learning format, with graduate programs designed to be completed in 20 months. However, if students need a break, they may take a leave of absence after completing three semesters. During this leave, students can still utilize CPT, potentially extending the program's total duration beyond 20 months.

- Payment Plan:
- A student who cannot pay their balance in full before the start of the quarter may set up a payment plan. At least 40% of the total tuition and fees must be paid at the time of registration, 80% by the end of the 4th week, and 100% by the end of the 8th week.
- If payment is missed, the student will be placed on an Auditor list and will not be permitted to return to class or submit coursework until the payment is made. In addition, the student will be charged a $50 late fee for each infraction.
- A $30 fee is charged to set up a payment plan, due at the time of setup. To apply for a payment plan, a student must meet all the following qualifications:
- Has been enrolled for one or more quarters;
- Has no previous outstanding balance.

- Can provide up to 1-2 additional opportunities for H1B lottery.

The Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program at WUST is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to design, develop, and effectively lead IT teams and projects, addressing the needs of global organizations today. The program aims to prepare qualified professionals for mid-level IT roles in small and medium-sized enterprises.
With a strong focus on real-world knowledge and practical experience, the MSIT program helps students build a solid theoretical foundation while gaining hands-on expertise. This combination empowers graduates to make meaningful contributions to IT solutions in the rapidly evolving, technology-driven global market.

The processing of applications typically takes 2 weeks; contact us in urgent cases for expedited processing, which can reduce the processing time to 1-3 days.
3. Post-Admission Instruction: After receiving your admission letter, reach out to the DSO to coordinate the SEVIS transfer timing and complete the necessary form to transfer SEVIS to WUST.
FAQ
- Master's: 6 credits for graduate programs (Must match course objectives for a course being replaced)
- Bachelor's: Students must complete major and core requirements for graduation.
- Students who miss the residency must attend a make-up residency at the Merrillville, IN location.
- $300 fee for the make-up
- 15% academic reduction for residency assignments for those without prior notification/documentation
- Professors do hold synch sessions weekly for all courses. The intentionality of these meetings varies by instructor.
