Ottawa University operates on a tri-semester system (three semesters each year), with each semester lasting four months.

Each semester includes two 8-week sessions, with a requirement to complete a 3-credit course in each session.

Students must also undertake a 1-credit practical course (CPT) each semester.

Total Credits per Semester: 7 credits are required to be completed each semester.

Work Authorization: The EMBA, DBA, and MS Nursing programs provide Day 1 CPT work authorization.

Hybrid Format: Courses are delivered through online and onsite classes.

Onsite Class Locations: On-site classes are available in Kansas City, Phoenix, or Milwaukee.

CPT Authorization starts on the first day of classes. There is no gap between CPT authorizations.

Day 1 CPT Programs
Master's programs:
- Requires completion of 36-42 credits;
- Typically finished in an average of 24 months, with the option to extend up to a maximum of 3 years for graduation;

Ottawa University's EMBA is a fast-growing program for professionals, combining a weekly workplace practicum with on-campus classes one weekend every eight weeks in Kansas City, Phoenix, or Milwaukee. Integrated with the Blackboard Learning Management System, the EMBA aligns coursework with students' jobs, fostering practical application, networking, and the integration of theory with professional experience. To graduate, students need to complete 6 core courses (18 credits), 6 concentration courses (18 credits), and CPT courses equivalent to 6 credits.
