Ottawa University Overview

Ottawa University, founded in 1865, has grown from a single building into a comprehensive educational institution with a rich history of over 150 years. It now serves more than 4,000 students through its two residential campuses in Ottawa, Kansas, and Surprise, Arizona, as well as its adult and graduate studies campuses located in Kansas City, Milwaukee, Phoenix, and through online platforms. Ottawa University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, a status it has held since 1914. The university's Business School is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), and its Nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Additionally, Ottawa University is approved by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE).

Ottawa University’s Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program is particularly popular among international students, especially for its Day 1 CPT options. With campuses in Arizona, Kansas, and Wisconsin, the university offers convenient locations for students and professionals working in central states and on the West Coast. As a non-profit institution with both national and regional accreditation, Ottawa University ensures that its graduates are well-positioned for career success, including participation in the Master's Cap H1B lottery, and generally face no issues during H1B application reviews by USCIS.
