VeteranDegrees Boosts Veteran Access via Oceanside Partnerships
At VeteranDegrees, a new initiative by GoElite, our mission is simple: help veterans confidently navigate their education, benefits, and career opportunities. By focusing on hybrid and low-residency degree programs that allow veterans to maximize their GI Bill benefits with minimal time on campus, we connect veterans with flexible academic pathways designed for real life.
But connecting veterans to the right programs requires more than digital outreach. It requires trust, presence, and meaningful partnerships within veteran communities.
Last week, the VeteranDegrees team traveled to Oceanside— a community deeply connected to military service— to begin building those partnerships on the ground.
Why Oceanside Matters
Located next to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Oceanside is home to a large population of active-duty service members transitioning into civilian life as well as veterans who have already entered the workforce.
For many of these veterans, education is the next step toward long-term career growth. However, navigating available programs, understanding how to use their benefits, and balancing work, family, and education can be overwhelming.
This is where VeteranDegrees aims to play a critical role.
By partnering with local organizations and businesses that already serve veterans, we can meet them where they are and guide them toward programs that fit their goals and lifestyles.
Establishing Partnerships with Veteran Service Organizations
During the visit, our team met with several veteran-focused organizations and local businesses that support the military community in the Oceanside area.
These organizations are often the first place veterans turn to for guidance on employment, housing, and community support. By working together, we can integrate education planning into the broader transition journey.
Through these partnerships, VeteranDegrees will:
- Provide education guidance sessions for veterans
- Help veterans understand how to maximize their GI Bill benefits
- Introduce hybrid and low-residency degree programs designed for working professionals
- Connect veterans with universities that offer career-aligned graduate and professional programs
For universities, these partnerships open a powerful new channel to reach a highly motivated student population that values flexibility and career outcomes.
By combining community partnerships, education guidance, and flexible academic programs, we aim to make higher education more accessible for veterans while helping universities connect with one of the most motivated and impactful student populations in the country.
