Don’t select a program too similar to your previous degree at the same level - it may cause RFE issues.

Example: If you already hold a Master’s in Data Analytics, don’t pursue another one. Instead, consider an MBA with a focus in Business Analytics or aim for a doctorate.

1. Receipt of Admission

Approximately 2–4 weeks after application submission, students will receive the school’s official acceptance letter.
Upon receiving the offer, the Admissions Team will send a "Next Steps" guidance email to assist students with registration and enrollment.
Acceptance Confirmation Form: After receiving the admission offer, please sign and submit the Acceptance Confirmation Form (available in the admissions portal).
Acceptance Fee: Pay the non-refundable acceptance fee of $100.

2. Bank Statement

Students are required to submit bank statements from the past three months demonstrating a minimum balance of $34,134 (or the equivalent in other currencies).
If using someone else's bank account or pay stubs to demonstrate financial support, a Monroe University Affidavit of Support must be completed and submitted.

3. Meningitis vaccinations

Students are required to upload proof of MMR and Meningitis vaccinations through the student portal.
Detailed information can be found in the "MENINGITIS INFORMATION" form attached to the school's email.

4. Visa Information Upload (Applicable for Transfer F-1 Students)

Students are required to upload the following visa-related documents through the student portal:
- F-1 visa page (validity not required).
- Passport page (if expired, renew promptly and upload the renewal receipt).
- I-94 form.
- I-20 from your previous institution.

5. Applying for Change of Status I-20 (Applicable for Change of Status)

Students need to contact the Designated School Official (DSO) to request a Change of Status I-20.
Use the I-20 and other required documents to submit a Change of Status application to USCIS, which requires a payment of $350 to USCIS.
Upon successful change of status, immediately contact the Admissions Team to proceed with the enrollment process.

6. Applying for Initial I-20 (Applicable for Initial Students)

The Office of International Admissions will email the I20 form and a copy of admission letter to students. Students should schedule a visa appointment at your local U.S. embassy.
In addition to the I20 form and Letter of Acceptance, please check the Embassy's website for other required documents and information on SEVIS and visa fees.
After obtaining your visa, students are required to upload a copy of it to the school's student portal.

7. Tuition Payment

The university will specify the tuition amount, payment link, and the student ID in guidance email. Students are required to pay for 6 credits for the first semester.
If students plan to apply for CPT, an additional 1-credit CPT fee is required. It is recommended to complete tuition payment at least 2 weeks before the semester starts to facilitate subsequent registration processes.

The admissions guidance email will include a SEVIS Transfer-In Form. Students transferring from another U.S. institution must submit this form to their current school to request the release of their SEVIS record to Monroe University.

Important Notes:

Once the SEVIS record is transferred, any existing OPT authorization will automatically terminate.
Students cannot work from the SEVIS release date until CPT is approved.
It is advisable to complete the SEVIS transfer 1–2 weeks before the semester begins.

Submitting CPT Application Materials

After successfully enrolling and paying tuition, students can proceed with the CPT application process.

Enroll in CPT Internship Course and Pay CPT Credit Fee
Submit CPT Application Materials to the DSO
- CPT Request Forms.
- Job Offer Letter.
- Most recent I-94 Form.
The university typically requires approximately one week to process the CPT application. Upon approval, students will receive a new I-20 form. Students may begin working according to the CPT start date specified on the I20.
CPT Authorization Renewal Each Semester CPT authorization must be renewed each semester. Ensure timely submission of required documents to maintain continuous CPT eligibility.
