Monroe College Fast Fact

Located in New York City, New York. Founded in 1933, Monroe College was named after James Monroe, the 5th President of the United States. Originally called the Monroe School of Business, it has evolved over nearly 80 years. Today, Monroe College boasts multiple campuses across the vibrant city of New York, including the Bronx, New Rochelle, St. Lucia, and Queens. As a distinguished private, for-profit institution, it has expanded its reach and influence over the years, providing students with a diverse range of educational opportunities.

The benefits of authoritative certification

Although I believe that most people choose Day 1 CPT schools is not because of the school’s reputation, but when I learned that Monroe college has authoritative certifications from HLC, MSCHE, and the International Student Service Center of the Ministry of Education of China, I was very impressed with the education of this school. I feel very reassured indeed about the quality and regularity. These certifications not only provide protection for us to apply for H1B and other visa types in the future, but also make my family feel at ease.

Convenience location

One of the major advantages of selecting Monroe College is its proximity to NYC. Situated in New Rochelle, New York, the university offers easy access to the bustling city. With a mere 30-minute train ride from Grand Central Station and a cost of just $8.50 for transportation, it is a truly unbeatable deal. This convenience is especially valuable for students who do not have cars and need to attend onsite classes. Moreover, the Monroe college campus is just a short 10-minute walk from the New Rochelle train station. Therefore, by choosing to study at Monroe college, you can immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and abundant resources of a metropolis, all while enjoying a serene and focused learning environment on campus.

Reasonable tuition

Affordability is definitely a key consideration when choosing a school, and fortunately, Monroe College offers reasonable tuition fees. As a student taking 7 credits per semester, I pay around $6,352. Considering the location in the eastern part of the United States, particularly in the New York area, this is already a relatively affordable option. In fact, if you're pursuing a second master's degree in the US, the tuition fees are even lower. So, not only do you get a quality education at Monroe college, but you also get great value for your money.

Great onsite frequency

Attendance frequency is an essential factor to consider when selecting a school. Personally, as someone working in the eastern part of the United States, the attendance requirements at Monroe college are manageable for me. I only need to come to school around three times per semester, which translates to approximately once a month. In case of any special circumstances preventing me from being on campus, I have the option to discuss it with my professors and find a suitable solution. However, completely online attendance is not available.

A wide variety of majors to choose from

Monroe college offers an extensive range of majors that are perfectly suited for day 1 CPT. It is crucial to choose a major that aligns with your career goals, and Monroe college provides options such as MBA, MS in Computer Science, MS in Data Science, and Public Health. These majors are designed to cater to a wide range of job requirements and ensure that students are well-prepared for their future careers.

Manageable academic expectations

Balancing work and study can be incredibly challenging, requiring careful time management and dedication. Thankfully, the professors at Monroe college understand the difficulties we face and strive to alleviate our workload. Unlike other schools with excessive homework requirements that consume precious hours, Monroe college is considerate of its working students. They recognize that occasional late assignments may occur and are lenient as long as we communicate our situation. The professors' understanding and relaxed coursework expectations enable me to maintain a harmonious balance between my studies and personal life.

Summary

To sum up, Monroe college's Day 1 CPT program has provided me with a high-quality, affordable, and convenient learning environment. In this multicultural country, I was not only able to gain rich academic knowledge, but also accumulate valuable practical experience. I believe that Monroe college is a very wise choice for international students with dreams like mine!
