A Rhythm That Keeps Us Aligned: Inside GoElite's Summer Termly Review
Five days, every department, one shared picture of where we stand and where we are going next.
At the conclusion of each academic term, GoElite pauses all sales, processing, and deadline pursuits for a full week. From August 31 to September 4, our global teams—including those in the United States and our international colleagues—convened for our annual Summer Termly Review. This dedicated week is protected from all other activities, enabling us to present a unified and consistent narrative to our partners, regardless of the representative they engage with.
The review is structured by department, beginning with an all-company session where leadership frames the term ahead, and our veteran degrees team shares key progress insights. Subsequent days focus sequentially on technology, marketing, admissions and partnerships, and business development. Each team leads its own morning session, ensuring that those closest to the work report directly rather than relying on filtered summaries through multiple management layers.
Critical to the process is that every team member, not only managers, presents during these sessions. Each individual provides a firsthand account of the recently completed term and outlines objectives for the upcoming period. While attending multiple presentations can be demanding, this transparency fosters understanding that transcends data dashboards: an admissions advisor gains insight into mid-term marketing strategy shifts, and a developer understands precisely where workflow inefficiencies impact advisors’ productivity.
This summer’s review highlighted a recurring theme affecting nearly all partnerships: enrollment trends across the spring and summer terms were interrupted not by declining student interest but by delays caused by incomplete documentation. Examples included unofficial transcripts missing conferral dates or degree conferral confirmation, financial documents not meeting requirements for I-20 issuance, and outdated employment verification letters. Though individually minor, these documentation gaps collectively contributed to students starting terms later than planned.
In response, we committed to creating school-specific advising handbooks for the fall semester. These practical guides will clearly specify each partner institution’s documentation requirements, formats, and submission timelines. While our partners have been generous in addressing these questions on a case-by-case basis, these handbooks aim to reduce repetitive inquiries and ensure applications are complete upon initial submission.
The week culminates with a company-wide vote recognizing colleagues who best embodied GoElite’s core values during the term, highlighting contributions that made significant differences for students and institutional partners. This is followed by a shared dinner—a purposeful conclusion to five days of candid reflection and a reminder of our mission’s focus.
For our university partners, the takeaway is clear:
When you engage with a GoElite team member this fall, you are speaking with someone freshly aligned with the company’s shared data, feedback, and priorities. This level of organizational cohesion is intentional and cultivated through this recurring, structured review week.
