Congratulations on your admission to Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU)! Please follow the steps below to ensure a smooth enrollment process:

Step 1: Confirm Admission & Pay Deposit

Confirm your acceptance via the link in your admission email or by contacting your admissions advisor;
Pay the $500 enrollment deposit within the required timeframe (usually within 7 days) to secure your spot;
Accepted payment methods include: online credit card, Flywire, international wire transfer, etc.

Step 2: Complete the I-20 Application

Submit a valid copy of your passport ID page;
Provide proof of financial support (e.g., bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover first year tuition and living expenses);
If you are a SEVIS transfer student, submit your current school’s Transfer Out Form;
Your admissions advisor will forward your documents to the DSO to process your I-20.

Step 3: SEVIS Transfer & Registration

If you are an OPT transfer or F-1 transfer student, coordinate with your current school’s international office to set a SEVIS transfer-out date;
Once SEVIS is transferred to IWU, the school will issue your new I-20;
Complete SEVIS registration promptly by submitting your personal information, visa, I-94, address, passport page, etc.

Step 4: Pay Tuition & Register for Classes

Log into the school portal to pay your first semester tuition and related fees;
Your admissions advisor or academic coordinator will assist you with course registration, including internship and major-related courses if applicable;
Confirm any eligibility for scholarships or tuition discounts.

Step 5: Apply for CPT (If Applicable)

If you plan to work while studying, you can apply for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) after completing SEVIS registration;
Required documents include an Offer Letter from your employer, internship agreement, etc. (details provided in the next section).

Step 6: Pre-Arrival Preparation

Check your email and student portal for Orientation updates and instructions;
Prepare all necessary documents and become familiar with online platforms such as Canvas and MyIWU;
If you plan to travel internationally, ensure you use your most recent I-20 to re-enter the U.S.

As an accredited institution, Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) allows eligible students to participate in paid or unpaid internships related to their field of study. Below is the complete step-by-step guide to applying for Curricular Practical Training (CPT):

Step 1: Prepare Required Documents

Offer Letter Must be printed on official company letterhead and include: job title, detailed responsibilities, start/end dates, work location, and employer’s signature.
CPT Cooperative Agreement IWU will provide a template. The document must be signed by both the student and employer.
Proof of Internship Course Registration This will be recorded in IWU’s student system.
Payment Receipt Proof of payment for tuition and any related internship course fees.

Step 2: Submit the Application

Log in to the designated CPT application portal (the link will be provided by your admissions advisor or DSO);
Upload all required documents and ensure the information is complete and accurate;
Once submitted, the system will send an automated confirmation email.

Step 3: Waiting for Review

The CPT document review process usually takes 5-10 business days
After the review, you will receive an updated Form I-20 with CPT authorization information.

Notes

CPT applications must be submitted prior to the start of the program; late submissions will not be approved;
All F-1 students must enroll in and complete the corresponding online CPT Internship Course, which is a Pass/No Pass course requiring weekly submission of work-related assignments and feedback;
Failure to pass the course will affect the CPT eligibility for the following term; - The IWU CPT Review Team does not accept repeated reminders; - CPT I-20s will be issued within two weeks of the start of each semester. CPT eligibility;
The IWU CPT Review Team does not accept repeated emails and will contact students if documents are not complete;
