California Institute Of Advanced Management adheres to USCIS regulations to authorize CPT for international students.
Eligibility for CPT from Program Start
✅ Current OPT and F1 students may obtain CPT Authorization from Day 1 of the program.
❌ Oversea applicants cannot obtain CPT Authorization from Day 1 of the program.
❌ Change of Status (to F1 Status) applicants cannot obtain CPT Authorization from Day 1 of the program.
“Day 1 CPT Universities” isn’t an official term. It refers to schools that may allow CPT from the first semester, but approval isn’t guaranteed. CPT typically takes 5–15 business days after complete documents are submitted.
CPT Details
CPT authorization needs to be renewed every term.
CPT is not required for graduation.
Please note that CIAM does not require every student to apply for CPT; however, to successfully graduate, all students must complete INT501 during the first year and INT599 during the second year.
Position Requirements (for internship, employment, or volunteer work):
The role must be directly related to the MBA program, such as project or people management, marketing, advertising, social media, accounting, finance, budgeting, innovation and entrepreneurship, data analysis, or other business-related administrative duties.
Role Format:
Positions may be paid or unpaid, and can be part-time (20 hours or less per week) or full-time (more than 20 hours per week).

Work Hours:
A minimum of 45 work hours is required for each INT course.
Grading:
INT501 and INT599 are graded Pass/No Pass.

Fees:
The first INT501 and the first INT599 are included in tuition.
Any additional INT599 courses will count as electives and are charged $500 per term.
Important for F-1 Students:
F-1 students must obtain CPT approval before registering for any INT course.
