This is a great introductory course for data analytics students. I learned greta basics here and they will be a foundation for my future classes and the knowledge that I receive.

Harter is a great professor! The course is definitely a bit of workload-heavy, but it’s 100% worth it because everything you learn is incredibly useful for real world daily work.

This is a highly engaging and enjoyable course. The workload is very manageable, and the weekly schedule is consistently well-structured, making it easy to stay on track. The professor is very encouraging and grades fairly. To succeed in this class, there are two key details to keep in mind: first, when participating in the discussion boards, you must include active links in your references; second, during peer evaluations, make sure to explicitly mention your peer's name as required. Overall, it’s a fantastic learning experience with a very reasonable workload, and I highly recommend it

The course is highly structured, with a consistent weekly routine consisting of a work log and a reflection essay, followed by a final video summary at the end of the semester. While the workload seems predictable, the grading criteria can sometime be unexpectedly rigid and frustrating. For instance, although the weekly work logs have a 100-word requirement, keeping them brief often results in point deductions for 'lack of detail.' Furthermore, the reflection grading feels disconnected from real-world experiences. In one prompt asking how we explain technical terms to non-technical people, my reflection was graded as a fail because the instructor deemed my example 'not technical enough.' In reality, as someone working with non-data professionals, translating even basic formulas requires a lot of time and effort. It felt discouraging to have genuine professional challenges dismissed because they didn't fit a narrow academic definition.

I'm currently a student at New England College, and my experience has been very positive. The professors are approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about helping students succeed. Class sizes are small, which makes it easier to ask questions and build relationships with both instructors and classmates. The coursework is challenging but practical, and I've been able to apply what I've learned to real-world situations. The campus has a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff are always willing to help with academic or administrative questions.

Very good introductory course for this major. I knew a lot of the material but it was nice to refresh my knowledge to use it further in my classes
