      H-1B Application Materials (from Employee)

      This article lists required materials for H-1B petitions provided by the employee (H-1B beneficiary).

      When applying for an H-1B visa, H-1B beneficiaries need to prepare the following materials:

      1. Copy of your passport (including photo and visa pages)

      2. Form I-94

      3. EAD card (if applicable)

      4. Copy of resume (for form-filling purposes only, not to be submitted to USCIS)

      5. Copies of diplomas of a bachelor's degree or above (translations required if not in English)

      6. Copies of all university transcripts (translations required if not in English)

      7. If you currently hold an F-1 visa, include a copy of the F-1 visa and all I-20s

      8. If you currently hold a J-1 visa, include a copy of the J-1 visa and DS-2019

      9. SSN (if applicable)

      10. Alien registration number (if applicable)

      11. For family members applying for H-4 visas, the following materials are required:

      • Scanned copies of passports (including photo and visa pages)

      • Marriage certificate for spouse; birth certificates for children (children must be under 21 and unmarried)

      • SSN (if applicable)

      • I-797 (if applicable)
