Will using full-time CPT now hurt my future OPT?

One rule to know: 12 or more months of FULL-TIME CPT in one degree removes OPT eligibility for that degree. Part-time CPT doesn't count against it at all. If a future OPT matters to you - usually first-master's students - we plan around it now: part-time CPT, or a track you finish within a year.
