Why are you emphasizing non-profit schools to me?

Because you don't have a US master's yet. A master's from a non-profit school puts you in the H-1B Master Cap - the advanced-degree lottery pool - worth roughly 5-8 extra percentage points of selection odds (it moves year to year, so nobody can quote an exact number). If you already had one, this would barely matter.
