S3 Q&A: My employer wants proof that I can keep working - what can I give them?

Your current work authorization - your EAD, or CPT on your current I-20 - covers you until its end date or your SEVIS release date, whichever comes first; an application receipt or an admission letter is not permission to work. Your admission letter can show your employer that you're enrolling, but only the CPT authorization on your new I-20 lets you work in the new program, from the start date it shows. If your current authorization ends before that date, our senior consultant maps the gap with you before you commit to any dates with your employer.
