S2 Q&A: Does applying affect my STEM OPT reporting or the SEVP Portal?

Applying doesn't - keep reporting as usual. The change happens at transfer: your OPT ends when your SEVIS record is released to the new school, which is exactly why the release date is planned to the day. Nothing to update until then.
