Each year, over 17,000 young ladies around the world enter contests in venues just like yours in hopes of advancing to the title of Miss Hawaiian Tropic International. The Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Model Search system, being the second largest pageant system in the world, draws hundreds of thousands of spectators to its preliminary events. Tropic Events, Inc., the authorized directors for all Miss Hawaiian Tropic events in the state of Texas, Guatemala and Central Mexico, will work hand-in-hand with your company or venue to produce a fun, successful, profitable, up-scale model search!

Model Search promotions are typically held after February, and must be held before the state or country finals, near the end of August each year. Each venue that participates will choose one winner who will represent their business as they advance to the State or Country Finals. The exposure for each venue is extremely high, especially i
f the contestant wins at a higher level of competition.

Should you decide to be a part of our proven system of contest promotions, Tropic Events, Inc. will provide your venue with the following items:

1. Exclusive rights to hold a Miss Hawaiian Tropic Model Search in your establishment to help build your clientele.
2. Two Hawaiian Tropic vinyl outdoor banners
3. 25 customized 11x17 Full-Color Posters advertising your specific event dates and times.
4. 250 customized table tents advertising your specific event dates and times
5. 5x8 (36x48) beautifully colored, official Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Contest posters for your venue to frame for one year.
6. Hawaiian Tropic Promotional Video to be played before your event to increase excitement.
7. Sponsor banners to be displayed in your establishment.
8. Help in the recruitment of contestants. (Though recruitment of contestants is ultimately the responsibility of the venue, our office routinely calls all current known competitors for each event, conduct
s many mass mail-out and email updates of event schedules, and advertises every contest date on our website Event Calendar.)
9. Assistance in choreographing and hosting the event.
10. Assistance in securing judges and announcers for the event.
11. All paperwork to produce your event including entry forms, score sheets, script cards and model release forms.
12. Hawaiian Tropic Winner's Sash to present to your winning contestant on stage.
13. Sash with your venue's name for your winner to wear at the State or Country Finals.
14. All expense paid trip for your winner to the US National Finals excluding air transportation.

As with any promotion or show, there are costs associated with hosting a Miss Hawaiian Tropic Model Search. Because rates are subject to change and are dependent on the nature of the event, we do not publish exact fees on this website, however, you may contact our office for a quote. Below is a list of expenses associated with a contest promotion that you will need to consider when booking an event.

1. Promotional Licensing Fee paid to Tropic Events, Inc.
2. Any prize money or prize items you may choose to award to the winners of your contest(s). Though this is optional, it is highly recommended, as it draws more competitors for a more marketable event.
3. Additional advertising - radio ads, print ads in newspapers or magazines, additional printed materials to hand out, display or mail out. Again, these are optional, but have been proven to increase the success of such an event.
4. Any additional decoration or staging that you may want to add to your venue for the event (op
tional)
5. Airfare for your contestant to go to the National Finals in Hawaii in September (for Texas Venues) or the International Finals in Hawaii in April (for Guatemala and Mexico venues), should she be chosen as a winner at the State or Country Finals. This expense is required ONLY if your representative is selected as one of the top 5 contestants at the Texas State contest or as the Overall Winner in Guatemala or Mexico City. If your representative does not win one of these titles, you are NOT responsible for this expense. If your venue does, in fact, need to purchase an airline ticket for your winner, you will be able to use Hawaiian Tropic's negotiated discount rates.

The purpose of booking a model search promotion in your venue is to draw clients to your location and increase your revenue. Here are just a few ideas that continue to be successful:

1. Increase or add a cover charge on the night of your event.
2. Have liquor companies or other sponsors sponsor part or all of
the cost in return for additional advertising and sampling during the event (we will be happy to add your individual sponsors to your customized posters and table tents before printing).
3. Have corporate sponsors fund all or portion of the promotional fee in return for judging positions in the contest.
4. Have prizes donated by corporate sponsors (tanning salons, spas, jewelers, fitness clubs, and cosmetics companies love to donate prizes for exposure).
5. Add this event to your regular radio or print advertising to avoid doubling advertising costs.
6. Use the Hawaiian Tropic name as the central draw for a much larger event, such as a parking lot party, a barbecue cook-off, a grand-opening, a concert or a special holiday celebration.
