Becoming a Miss Hawaiian Tropic Contestant

JOIN A LOCAL COMPETITION
To become a Hawaiian Tropic contestant, entrants need to simply show up at any preliminary competition. Throughout the competition season, nightclubs and other establishments host preliminary contests.
There is no entry fee to enter.

Some club contests will be a single-day event, called an open final, in which any contestant may enter and the winner will represent that venue at the Texas State Finals (or Country Finals in the case of Guatemala or Mexico). Most clubs will host a multi-week event that consists of several preliminary contests and a club final. In such contests, only the top winners from the club prelims will be eligible to compete in the club final. The winner of the club final will represent the venue at the State or Country Finals.

All contests will be added to the Events Calendar as soon as they are booked with our office.

COMPETITION, SCORING AND RULES

Club-level competitions will consist of two separate scoring rounds. The first, casual wear, requires contestants to model in their choice of casual or cocktail attire. The second round is the swimsuit competition. During this round, contestants will model their choice of two-piece swimwear and will be interviewed by the MC on stage (questions will be based on information provided by the contestants on bio sheets before the contest).
No thongs, G-strings or nudity are allowed in the competition.

The panel of judges will score each contestant on a scale of 1-10 for each round. After the competition, the scores will be tabulated and the 2nd runner up, 1st runner up and winner will be announced. Local sponsors and the host venue may provide additional prizes and/or cash prizes to the winners (check individual event details for prize information).

At the end of the competition season, all club final winners in Texas will advance to the Texas State Finals (or Country Finals for winners in Guatemala or Mexico City) and will compete under the name of their club or venue (e.g.: "Miss Seabrook Beach Club"). The top five competitors at the State competition will split an amazing prize package and will advance to the National Finals.

Note:
There is no purchase necessary to enter.
Preliminary contests are open to women 17 years of age & over, single or married.
All interested contestants may be subject to a pre-screening interview before the actual contest with a Miss Hawaiian Tropic Independent Representative.
All finalists will sign a one year appearance contract with Tropic Events, Inc. All finalists must attend all corporate sponsored events and promotions, as well as several seasonal sponsor-hosted events to be announced prior to the State Finals competition.
Participants must execute an affidavit of eligibility and liability release form.
By entering, contestants agree to these rules and the decision of the judges are final.
Contestants also consent to the use or their names, photographs and or likenesses for advertising purposes and similar promotions with no additional compensation outside of the stated prizes.

BEYOND COMPETITION
THE HAWAIIAN TROPIC CULTURE

World Travel - Throughout the year, certain contestants are selected to travel the world, visiting such exciting places as Australia, Hawaii, Jamaica, Russia, Greece, Egypt, the Greek Isles, and France. Each year, the Hawaiian Tropic modeling team is highly visible at the Cannes Film Festival and racing events such as the Le Maas Race in France, and the Indianapolis 500. The contestants also participate in photo shoots, interviews, appearances, fashion shows, movies and commercials.

Meeting People - Contestants are exposed to a wide variety of the entertainment industry's top actors and performers. State and National competitors have also had the opportunity to meet various directors, producers, and entertainment industry executives as a result of their involvement in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic system. Many television and film executives work closely with Hawaiian Tropic to search for new talent and faces, and many of our competitors have scored movie, commercial, and television roles from their direct contact with these highly influential people.

Charity Work - Several of our local promotions each year tie in with certain charities such as the American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, The Sunshine Kids, American War Heroes, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. As highly-recognizable personalities, not only do the Miss Hawaiian Tropic contestants help raise money for these organizations, but they are an inspiration to the children and other recipients of the charitable funds. Participation by Hawaiian Tropic contestants in charitable events continues throughout the national and international model search system as well.
